THE SHOP X FEMALE ALCHEMY PRESENTED BY A1A & STUDIO AF ON VIEW THROUGH MAY 19  Miami-based ceramic artist Tatiana Cardona is the founder of Female Alchemy, a body of work devoted to exploring the emotional and spiritual essence of womanhood. On view at The Shop at The Bass through May 19th. Her ceramics are deeply informed by her Colombian heritage, her upbringing, and the enduring influence of the women who have shaped her life. Through her hands, clay becomes a language—an intimate storytelling tool that allows the artist to reconnect with her inner child, honoring her culture, and giving shape to memory and feeling. Each piece is intentionally one-of-a-kind, never replicated, and serves as a physical embodiment of a person or moment that has left a mark on Cardona—be it someone she has loved, briefly encountered, or quietly observed. These sculptural forms are not just functional objects, but vessels of experience: moody, emotional, and evocative of the complex emotional terrain of girlhood, femininity, and human connection. With Female Alchemy, Tatiana creates more than ceramics—she creates a world. A world where softness is power, individuality is sacred, and art becomes a form of healing. The Frank Gallery in Pembroke Pines presents Art & Yoga for Kids!

 

The Frank C. Ortis Art Gallery invites you to Art & Yoga on Saturday, June 22nd from 11am - 1pm. Led by YogArtKids, this program is designed to provide children a space to develop their self-discovery, self-esteem, balance, and creativity through a guided lesson, meditation, and an art project. A new exhibition called “Ephemeral Construct” is opening at the Frank C. Ortis Art Gallery from February 8, 2024, through May 18, 2024. The Frank C. Ortis Art Gallery in the City of Pembroke Pines presents Ephemeral Construct, a free exhibition weaving together art, ecology, and the fleeting nature of existence, bringing together the works of four South Florida Artists – Nathalie Alfonso, Sharon Lee Hart, Alejandra Abad, and Deborah Perlman. Saturday, July 1st (11am – 5pm) and Sunday, July 2nd (12pm – 5pm) NSU Art Museum Fort Lauderdale presents Bank of America Museums on Us. Palm Beach County (August 30, 2021)- Hispanic Heritage Month at The Box Gallery will be celebrated with eye opening exhibition spotlighting the delicate and vulnerable eco-system of Colombia and a series of presentations, an art salon celebrating works by artists representing the Latin America, workshops, book readings and much more throughout the next two months for all to enjoy.  

The Box Gallery, located at 811 Belvedere Road in West Palm Beach, has partnered with Latin American Arte in a joint effort to kick off Hispanic Heritage Month by presenting Environment Work, an international exchange exhibition of paintings by Colombian artist Moisés Morales Duque, in West Palm Beach. The first of five in a series events, the exhibit opens with a reception on September 25, 2021 from 7-9 PM and continues though October 30, 2021.

Art Workshop: NSU Art Museum's Creativity Exploration

Enjoy an art workshop at NSU Art Museum on Saturday, August 10th from 12noon – 1:30pm. Creativity Exporation: Guiding Grids at NSU Art Museum in Fort Lauderdale will allow participants to explore the paintings of India’s S.H. Raza and make a gridded mandala with oil pastels inspired by his work, personal symbology, and color. Creativity Exploration workshops promote the benefits of creative exploration and the mind to-body experience. Studies have shown that 45 minutes of creative activity a day reduces stress and offers mental clarity and relaxation. In addition to producing a sense of well-being, sessions expand participants’ perceptions of forms, while increasing brain connectivity through visual and cognitive stimulation. The workshop is led by educator Lark Keeler, a specialist in mindfulness education. RSVP here.

Vero Beach Museum of Art presents Made in Germany: Art Since 1980 from the Rubell Family Collection

The Vero Beach Museum of Art presents an exciting selection of approximately sixty works selected from over 500 objects of contemporary German art drawn from the deep holdings of the renowned Rubell Family Collection in Miami, Florida. Don and Mera Rubell have established one of the first major private museums of contemporary art that has become an international model.

The exhibition chronicles this landmark period through cutting-edge painting, sculpture and photography from some of the most important practitioners of contemporary art. During the post-World War II era, Düsseldorf and Cologne became leading centers for contemporary art. After the fall of the Berlin Wall, both Berlin and Leipzig also emerged as important contemporary art centers. Few countries have had four major centers of contemporary art at one time.

This exhibition features exceptional examples from these cities pioneering artists from the late-twentieth centuries, including Anselm Kiefer and Gerhard Richter; sculptors Isa Genzhen and Thomas Schütte; influential photographers Bernd & Hilla Becher, Thomas Demand, and Thomas Ruff; and painters Martin Kobe and Neo Rauch, among others.

In addition, the Museum will be offering a series of interpretative exhibition inspired activities including a series of German inspired films starting October 18th at 4:30pm; a lecture by Brady Roberts Made in Germany: An Insider View on October 24th at 5:30pm; an Adult Workshop with Sara Klein and Danielle Johnson How to Look At Contemporary Art on November 16th or 17th from 1 – 4 pm; and a number of Art Talks with a VBMA docent who will offer an in-depth tour focusing on select artworks from the exhibition on October 17th, November 14th and December 12th at 12 noon. About the Rubell Family: Mera and Don Rubell are pioneers who discover and champion young artists, undiscovered neighborhoods and new ideas. Mera and Don first began engaging with artists, galleries, and museums in 1964 while living in New York. They moved to Miami in 1992 and, with their son Jason and daughter Jennifer, began developing hotels and an art foundation and museum to house and publicly exhibit their expanding art collection. Combining their instinct for emerging neighborhoods with aesthetic acuity and hands-on business know-how, they formed Rubell Hotels and have subsequently transformed and enlivened neighborhoods on the East Coast. They helped spearhead the transformation of South Beach in the 1990’s and their art museum, located in a former DEA warehouse, did the same for Miami’s new cultural epicenter, the Wynwood neighborhood. The Rubells were also instrumental in bringing the Art Basel art fair to Miami Beach.
