The Boynton Beach Community Redevelopment Agency (BBCRA) invites residents and visitors to experience one of the City’s largest and most anticipated events of the year, the Boynton Beach Night Market, returning Friday, July 24, and Saturday, July 25, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. each evening at Centennial Park & Amphitheater, 120 E. Ocean Avenue in Downtown Boynton Beach.

This year’s Night Market will transport guests back to the vibrant decade of neon colors, big hair, and iconic music with an exciting 80s-themed celebration featuring live entertainment, nearly 100 exhibiting vendors, delicious food, interactive activities, and fun for all ages.

The Boynton Beach Night Market has become a signature summer tradition that transforms Downtown Boynton Beach into a lively outdoor marketplace celebrating the community and the local businesses that make Boynton Beach unique. The Night Market is all about showcasing and supporting local businesses located throughout the Boynton Beach CRA District and the City of Boynton Beach. Created by the BBCRA, the business promotional event provides local businesses, entrepreneurs, artisans, and makers with an opportunity to connect directly with thousands of residents and visitors while introducing attendees to the diverse shopping, dining, and entertainment experiences available throughout the community. Miami Dade College presents Alhambra Orchestra: America 250 With a Miami Twist

In celebration of the 250th anniversary of the United States, Miami Dade College (MDC) and Alhambra Orchestra have partnered for "America 250 with a Miami Twist," a family-friendly multimedia show about Miami's unique history, with amazing historical images, dramatic orchestral music, and fascinating narration, at MDC's Freedom Tower, the National Historic Landmark located at 600 Biscayne Blvd. in downtown Miami.  From the Everglades to luxury hotels, the Tequesta people to waves of immigrants and refugees, and swampland to international metropolis, attendees of all ages will experience the remarkable evolution of Miami into a thriving multicultural city. The one-hour presentation will combine live orchestral performance, narration and multimedia visuals to bring Miami's rich and diverse history to life inside the iconic Freedom Tower. The event will take place Saturday, June 13, from 3 to 4 p.m. and is free and open to the public. Admission will be granted on a first-come, first-served basis until capacity is reached. Led by YogArtKids, this program is designed to provide children a space to develop their self-discovery, self-esteem, balance, and creativity through a guided lesson, meditation, and an art project. The Frank Art Gallery in Pembroke Pines presents "Soñadora" & "Imaginary Tapestries"

 

Two new exhibitions are opening this summer at the Frank C. Ortis Art Gallery from June 20, 2024, through August 24, 2024. Yuyi Morales in “Soñadora” and Aurora Molina & Stella Gaia Vandermey’s “Imaginary Tapestries”. All ages are welcome to attend an Opening Reception on June 20th from 6 – 9pm, which will feature free entry, live music, complimentary refreshments, and hors d’oeuvres at The Frank Gallery, located at 601 City Center Way. This Event is Free & Open to the Public.

The Frank C. Ortis Art Gallery in the City of Pembroke Pines invites art lovers and art-goers to discover the enchanting world of Yuyi Morales in Soñadora, organized by the National Center for Children’s Illustrated Literature. This showcase celebrates Morales’ journey and her vibrant storytelling. Soñadora comprises more than sixty mixed-media artworks from fourteen of Yuyi Morales’ books that will enliven and inspire viewers of any age.

Guests will also enjoy Aurora Molina and Stella Gaia Vandermey’s exhibition, Imaginary Tapestries. The exhibition aims to explore the intricate tapestry of familial connections, childhood memories, and the transformative power of artistic expression. The exhibition will be a multi-layered narrative, weaving together the stories of Aurora Molina, her daughter Stella Gaia Vandermey, and the diverse voices of Aurora’s Atelier Students. Through fiber art, mixed media installations, and curated works, the exhibition will offer a journey through the past, present, and future, highlighting themes of resilience, identity, and belonging.

“Mythic Creatures: Dragons, Unicorns & Mermaids”

Experience larger-than-life creatures at HistoryMiami Museum and its feature exhibition, Mythic Creatures: Dragons, Unicorns & Mermaids. Mythic Creatures traces the roots of some of the world’s most enduring mythological creatures from Asia, Europe, the Americas, and even how Miamians embrace their own mythic fantasies. On display through March 31, 2024, it encourages visitors to investigate for themselves how cast fossils of prehistoric animals could have, through misidentification, speculation, fear, or imagination, inspired the development of some legendary creatures.                  

Visitors will come face-to-face with a 17-foot-long dragon with a wingspan of over 19 feet, a giant Kraken sea monster with 12-foot-long tentacles, a 10-foot-long unicorn, 120-foot-long Chinese Parade dragon, and an over-6-foot-tall, extinct primate called Gigantopithecus. Each item featured brings to life ways in which myths could have had their beginning, capturing the imagination of every child. 

The exhibition offers numerous interactive stations and activities for every age group.  Hours are:  Wednesday – Saturday: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., Sunday: noon –  5 p.m.; Christmas and New Year’s Eve from noon – 5 p.m.

Mythic Creatures: Dragons, Unicorns & Mermaids is organized by the American Museum of Natural History, New York (amnh.org), in collaboration with Australian National Maritime Museum, Sydney; Canadian Museum of History, Gatineau-Ottawa; Fernbank Museum of Natural History, Atlanta; and The Field Museum, Chicago.

It's Art Deco Weekend 2024! Kids’ Corner at The Frank in Pembroke Pines

The Frank C. Ortis Art Gallery and Exhibition Hall in Pembroke Pines presents Kids’ Corner on Saturday, October 5th from 12 noon – 1pm. Join The Frank every month for storytime! Together with their caretakers, children under the age of 8 build literacy and engage in art activities related to The Frank’s exhibition, New Industry! Featured storybooks will be Boy and Bot by Ame Dyckman and Roberto: The Insect Architect by Nina Laden. This event is free to the public.
