Andrew Myers the California-based sculptor uses up to 10,000 screws to create these jaw-dropping portraits. The process is as painstakingly tedious as it looks, with each screw manually placed (at varying lengths) and painted. Andrew doesn’t use computer software to map out his portraits, it’s all by feel, treating each piece like a traditional sculpture. Check out the incredible work at the Lawrence Cantor Gallery booth #422. Cantor will give a gallery talk at 3 pm.
Chihuly’s Venetians were developed from the inspiration he acquired while making a trip to Venice in 1988. Returning to the U.S., he then decided to create his own versions of the classic pieces with his unique, lively twist.
