Call To Artists: Broward Art Guild presents Spring Fling Virtual Art Exhibit

Spring Fling Virtual Art Exhibit Call to Artists

In partnership with Broward Art Guild, The New Pelican will host the Spring Fling Virtual Exhibit.

During this era of social distancing when traditional, up-close exhibits are impossible, this virtual exhibit is a chance for artists and art lovers to keep art alive in a fresh way: online and in print.

Art lovers will be able to vote online for their favorite piece.

For those who want to buy art pieces later, prices will be displayed and contact info for Broward Art Guild will be provided. In this difficult economic situation, art lovers with the financial means are encouraged to support artists by purchasing their work. They will also be supporting Broward Art Guild by helping to keep it afloat until the reopening of its physical gallery.

After the voting, the winners will be published on The New Pelican’s website and in its print edition.

Artists, members of Broward Art Guild and non-members alike, are invited to send JPG images of their best artwork – open theme, open medium – to browardartguild.org/spring-fling-exhibit.htm where they will be guided through the registration process.

Up to three images can be submitted at a cost of $10 each. The submission period is Saturday, April 4, through Saturday, April 18.

As with all Broward Art Guild exhibits, entries will be reviewed by a professional judge. The top 50 will be displayed online at newpelican.com/category/spring-fling-virtual-exhibit and the nine award winners will be featured in the paper’s online and print editions.

Voting [artists can also vote] will take place from Friday, April 24, to Wednesday, April 29.

Go to newpelican.com and sign up for the email list to ensure one person, one vote. The top vote getter will be awarded People’s Choice and featured in The New Pelican’s May 1 print and online editions.

Along with the People’s Choice, the judge’s top eight pieces will be featured in print and online: best in show, second and third places, four honorable mentions, and a judge’s recognition.
