This national exhibit seeks artwork that engages with the materiality of paint as a vehicle for producing meaning, particularly in the midst of pandemic and stay-at-home orders.
The call is open to artwork in any media, with the provision that some manner of “paint” should play an important role in the artwork as subject or media. This may include, but is not limited to, painting, pastel, printmaking, photography, collage, sculpture, fiber, mixed-media, new media, and installation.
BAC is honored to partner with Juana Williams, Curator, Urban Institute of Contemporary Arts, Grand Rapids, MI.
"Barrett is calling out to artists to create in response to the unusual times we are all facing together. Since cultural organizations and artists alike are struggling during this time, we have reduced our typical entry fee by 50% to make submitting more affordable."
