Spectrum Miami & Red Dot Miami Return To Miami Art Week 2019



Spectrum Miami and Red Dot Miami return to Mana Wynwood, with both fairs now located inside the Convention Center for the very first time – offering the only “Two Shows Under One Roof” and new world-class experience for both exhibitors and art enthusiasts during this year’s Miami Art Week, taking place December 4 – 8, 2019. Both shows will cover more than 100,000 square feet of indoor exhibition space and be even more accessible for visitors on foot and by car, all within walking distance from Wynwood’s trendiest restaurants, bars and retail boutiques.


Spectrum Miami and Red Dot Miami form the acclaimed contemporary and fine art experience that collectively presents some of today’s most coveted national and international galleries and artists from the U.S and around the world. Redwood Media Group exclusively produces the two art shows housed in one location—considered to be the only multi-show production of its kind during Miami Art Week.


Spectrum Miami, an upscale and urban curated contemporary art fair, now in its 9th year, will be located adjacent to Red Dot Miami and inside Mana Wynwood Convention Center for the very first time, elevating the always exciting fine art experience. Spectrum Miami presents special programs and site-specific exhibitions that showcase the thriving art landscape of the city, informed by the 2019 curatorial theme [IGNITE], featuring an international slate of artists and galleries. Spectrum Miami—it’s where inspiration is ignited.


Red Dot Miami, a curated gallery-only contemporary art fair, now in its 14th year, illuminates the best the contemporary art world has to offer. The theme forms a common thread throughout the special exhibits and programming that showcases exhibitors, art industry professionals, and select nonprofits and institutions. Red Dot Miami features more than 75 galleries representing over 500 leading contemporary artists from primary and secondary markets throughout the world. The five-day show attracts more than 35,000 visitors and high-net-worth collectors who interact with the specially curated programming.


The annual Opening Night Preview for Spectrum Miami and Red Dot Miami will take place from 6 – 10pm on Wednesday, Dec. 4, within Mana Wynwood, and will feature innovative contemporary art together with Louis Jadot Wines, Bulleit Bourbon cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and musical entertainment. Tickets for the Opening Night Preview are priced at $50 by purchasing online or $60 at the event. A General Admission 1-day Pass for Spectrum Miami and Red Dot Miami is $25 by purchasing online or $30 at the event. A 5-day Pass that includes the Opening Night Preview is $75 by purchasing online or $85 at the event. Tickets grant access to both Spectrum Miami and Red Dot Miami. Collectors, art aficionados and South Florida art-goers are invited to experience Open Studio Night and the dual exhibition IDEAL SITUATION at Storefront Art Studio in Downtown Hollywood on Thursday, November 14th from 7 – 11pm. The exhibition features the work of Brian Gefen and Jill C. Weisberg. This event is free and open to the public.

Gefen and Weisberg’s visual voices are influenced with the current cultural and social landscape. Using vintage printed materials, pop-culture iconography and a vibrant color palette, Gefen and Weisberg communicate their views in different ways both using a mixed-media approach. Gefen uses pop culture to illustrate how society puts priorities on entertainment, not factual information. Weisberg’s intention is to show how the commodification of femininity by incorporating advertisements from vintage women’s magazines in her glittery mixed-media pieces. Both artists’ work are a treat for the eyes, encouraging the viewer to look deeper into the works and find meaning. The exhibition is on view through December 22nd, 2019.

Storefront Art Studio, Downtown Hollywood FL

Storefront Art Studio is an exhibition space in the heart of Downtown Hollywood, Florida and the working studios of local artists Jill Weisberg and Brian Gefen. It is a dedicated site for artists and creatives to showcase their work in an environment that melds seamlessly with the traditional architecture of Downtown Hollywood, while also being a rallying point for cultural events and vibrant social interaction. "We both had our separate studios before we met, it was only natural that we would work together because we enjoy being together. Storefront Art Studio is a literal storefront commercial space on Hollywood Boulevard and is where we create our artwork as well as curate shows together. It's located in Downtown Hollywood, Florida which is a super fun place to have a studio," explained artist Jill Weisberg.

The two open platforms that flank the entrance to Storefront are exhibition walls that can be viewed 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Toronto-based contemporary artist Daniel Mazzone kicks off Art Basel Week in Miami at 1 Hotel South Beach with ‘Life Is A Circus’ exhibition on Wednesday, December 4th from 7 – 11pm. Meet South Florida Artist Robin Babitt, Creating The Ultimate 'Conversation Pieces'


#ArtoftheDay: ‘Long and Winding Road’, 30″ x 24″, Acrylic on Canvas, by Delray Beach-based artist Robin Babitt, from the artists' "Lyrics in Color" series. Her work is colorful and fun, she creates the ultimate “conversation pieces” with a twist. Robin combines her passion for art and cooking into her artwork, each piece includes its own authentic recipe in the back for the particular personality of the art piece.
