Miami Design District Public Art Tours
Saturday, July 11th from 5-6pm join the Miami Design District for a free guided tour of the neighborhood’s world-renowned public art, architecture as well as temporary artist projects and exhibitions made possible by the district. Experience a bit of what the neighborhood has to offer. The tour, SITE PLAN, explores the Miami Design District’s Architecture, considering the history and ideas important to architecture and how art is integrated within each site as guests stroll through the neighborhood. Sites include Buckminster Fuller Fly’s Eye Dome, Leong Leong’s Garage, Paseo Ponti, and more. Meet in front of the Fly’s Eye Dome on the first floor of Palm Court (enter at 140 NE 39th Street). Maximum of 10 persons per tour
Tour guests are kindly asked to wear masks and practice social distancing during the tour.

About your guide: An experienced art and architecture guide, Thom Wheeler Castillo has worked with various institutions throughout the region as a cultural ambassador and educator to bridge the gap between art and conversation, including the Peréz Art Museum Miami, O, Miami Poetry Festival, HistoryMiami, A.I.R.I.E. (Artist in Residence in the Everglades), the Rubell Museum, and the Department of Reflection.
