The Midwest Center for Photography in Wichita, Kansas seeks entries for a juried photography exhibition, September 4-25, 2020. Juror: Linda Robinson, Gallery Director. Nostalgia is often triggered by something reminding us of a happier time, a feeling of pleasure and also slight sadness when we think about the way things used to be. "We are seeking photographs that show a form of nostalgia using the snapshot aesthetic, images of how time is interpreted thinking about things that happened in the past, memories that shape our lives. Nostalgia is an exhibition of photographs that elicit or display the binary of remembering and melancholy as a way to document memories, a wistful desire to return in thought to a former point in life, a somewhat sentimental yearning for the happiness of another place or position in time. A brief artist statement is optional. Selected artists will have their work featured in the gallery exhibition and online." $40 entry fee. Deadline: September 3, 2020.
