Call to Artists: Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International FLL Terminal 2 Art Gallery

Call to Artists: FLL Terminal 2 Art Gallery

 Call for Artists - DEADLINE:
the Broward County Aviation Department invite professional South
Florida artists to apply for rotating exhibition opportunities at the
Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport’s Terminal 2 Art Gallery

The Terminal 2 Art Gallery is located post-security on the
departures level of Terminal 2. The gallery consists of two
(2) separate walls, each measuring 24 ft. wide by 8.8 ft. high
that face passenger hold rooms.

This gallery space offers South Florida artists an excellent
opportunity to exhibit their work in a prominent, high-traffic
area in FLL (Terminal 2 processes over 200k passengers
monthly). Artists selected will be required to provide artwork
for one exhibition covering two (2) 24 ft. wide by 7 ft. high
wall areas (a 1.8 ft. high area at the bottom of the wall is
reserved for charging stations).

Each exhibition will run for six months. Artworks demonstrating
high artistic quality that appeal to a diverse audience are
encouraged. All art forms and mediums will be considered, as
long as the subject matter is appropriate for all airport visitors.
Due to the layout of the gallery space, artwork that projects
more than 6″ from the wall and freestanding works will not
be considered. Selected artists must commit to displaying their
work for the full length of the exhibit.

Exhibition Budget

A Broward County selected art handler will assist with the
installation of the exhibit at no cost to the artist (specialized
installation services are not included). Selected artists will
receive a flat honorarium of $2,500 upon the conclusion of
their exhibition and submittal of a proper invoice.

Artist Eligibility

All professional South Florida based artists eighteen years of
age or older, living and working in South Florida (Broward,
Miami-Dade, and Palm Beach counties) are encouraged to apply.

Application and Exhibition Process

Applications must be emailed to ARTFLL@Broward.org and

  • Letter of Interest – The one-page maximum letter should indicate interest in exhibiting at the Terminal 2 Gallery and include a brief artist statement outlining current focus of artwork.
