Arts Warehouse presents Summer Heat Exhibition

 

Thursday, July 10th from 6 – 8pm you are cordially invited to Arts Warehouse in Delray Beach for the Opening of the group exhibition, Summer Heat, reflecting on the multifaceted nature of the season when days are longest and darkness is shortest. This group exhibition features 25 artists working in various media and selected from an open call for art with over 130 artists submitting.

Cornell Art Museum presents Nature's Palette: Art inspired by the Earth

Friday, September 6th from 6 - 9pm art lovers & art-goers are cordially invited to enjoy the Opening Reception of Nature's Palette: Art inspired by the Earth at Cornell Art Museum in Delray Beach. Guests will experience the opening of this outstanding group show, along with refreshments and light bites. This exhibition is on view from September 6, 2024 through February 2, 2025.

Nature's Palette features innovative transportive installations from regional artists showcasing various mediums, including 2D paintings, 3D sculpture, glass works, and more. The exhibition hosts 42 regional artists showcasing over 70 works of art – with special features from notable artists curated by the Delray Beach DDA’s Cultural Arts Director, Marusca Gatto.

“The exhibition includes captivating creative expressions that draw inspiration from the beauty of the natural world,” said Gatto. “In this exploration, artists dive into various techniques to uncover the profound impact art has on our connection with nature. It will showcase the vibrant world surrounding us with a nod to environmental concerns.

Cornell Art Museum: Seven Solos Closing Reception

Enjoy the Closing Reception of Seven Solos at Cornell Art Museum on Saturday, October 5th from 5-7pm. Seven Solos is a departure from the usual group show, featuring only seven artists who will each create a unique, immersive, site-specific experience in six galleries plus the atrium space. Curator Melanie Johanson has worked closely with all seven artists to create an exhibition like none the museum has shown before. Join us at the museum for a de-installation performance of artist Giannina Dwin’s Ebb and Flow salt installation. Experimental creator and performer Niurca Marques will dance atop of the salt installation, moving the salt around during the dance and deconstructing the installation.

There will be a cash bar and light bites will be provided. Admission: $15.00, free for Old School Square members.

Old School Square Cornell Art Museum presents the Opening Reception of 'Looking at Ourselves: PBSFA' tonight Friday, August 2nd from 6-9pm in tandem with Delray’s First Friday Art Walk. Cornell Art Museum’s Spotlight Gallery is proud to host: Looking at Ourselves, a student exhibition by Palm Beach School for Autism for the month of August. PBSFA’s High School students spent their summer creating works inspired by some of their favorite artists such as Frida Kahlo, Henri Matisse, Keith Haring and Vincent Van Gogh. Through this process students discovered their talent and teachers observed a greater attention to detail, improved fine motor skills and motivation. Looking at Ourselves continues the Spotlight Gallery’s mission to foster connection and conversation amongst the artists and their community by allowing underserved and unseen art to be “spotlighted” and given a chance to be appreciated. Cornell Art Museum in Delray Beach presents Unshaped, a group exhibition of LGBTQ artists

The Cornell Art Museum in Delray Beach presents Unshaped, a group exhibition of LGBTQ+ artists exploring the confines of mediums and concepts, asking for conversation on the physical and psychological boundaries we create and inherit.

The show will take place in the museum’s Spotlight gallery for the month of June in conjunction with Pride Month opening on Friday June 7th with a reception beginning at 6pm in tandem with the First Friday Art Walk. Unshaped will be on view until the June 29th, 2019. 

The featured artists identify as LGBTQ+, a demographic still marginalized both in public and in the museum space. This show is a reaction to a large part of art exhibitions still showcasing nearly exclusively white/male/heterosexual-identifying artists. Just as importantly, it wishes to bring focus to up-and-coming artists using out-of-the-box approaches to their practice. 

Unshaped continues the Spotlight Gallery’s mission to foster connection and conversation amongst the artists and their community by allowing underserved and unseen art to be “spotlighted” and given a chance to be appreciated. 

The Cornell Art Museum works to the collaborate with local are groups to curate, manage and promote art exhibitions to support and benefit non-profit children’s groups, student groups, art education groups, art scholarship organizations and other artists groups.
