Tuma's art is considered 'applied photography' in the sense that he paints an abstraction through photographs.
His work is strongly influenced by geometry, symmetry and architecture that reflects a kaleidoscopic display of patterns, shapes and colors. Tuma's main practice is photography - he transforms his photographs into formulaic designs creating optical eye pieces unusual to the field of photography, but he is a versatile artist who also creates video art, sculpture, fashion and installation art.
