Calling all South Florida Artists!
The Broward County Aviation Department, in collaboration with the Broward Arts Public Art & Design Program, invites professional South Florida artists to create an artwork on the exterior of an airplane to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the United States.
The selected design will transform the exterior of a non-operational Boeing 727 parked on the North Runway at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL), celebrating American culture and history, patriotism, and community pride. This artwork should create a bold visual moment for travelers flying through FLL and drivers passing by on the highway.
Key Dates:
Application deadline: Thursday, April 9, 2026
Artist selected: May 2026
Installation: July/August 2026
Budget: $95,000
Finalists will also receive a $1,000 honorarium for proposal and presentation expenses.
