CODAworx: The Art of Projection, Presented By Panasonic - Experience Italian artist Alessio Cassaro's projection art to display on the exterior of NSU Art Museum Fort Lauderdale

An international Call for Artists from CODAworx and Panasonic has ended, and a winner has been chosen. Jurors Bonnie Clearwater, Director of the NSU Art Museum Fort Lauderdale, and Leslie Fordham, the Public Art and Design Administrator at Broward Cultural Division, selected projection mapping by Alessio Cassaro as the winning art for CODAworx: The Art of Projection, Presented by Panasonic. On April 7th, the projected artwork will be made possible by Panasonic, a company that supports artists focused on expanding the boundaries of creative expression, at CODAsummit: Experience.

Cassaro is the CEO and Creative Director of Antaless Visual Design, which he created in 2013. Under his leadership, Antaless Visual Design has received numerous international awards for their creation of innovative and immersive multimedia experiences. Reflecting on his goals, Cassaro believes, “Our job is not to give our customers what they want, but what they have never dreamed of.” Projects completed by the organization include LMNtrix in Miyazaki, Japan and Entelechy in Bucharest, Romania. Remarking on Cassaro’s art, CODAworx CEO Toni Sikes said, “Alessio’s artwork enlivens the architecture on which it is projected, and in the case of the NSU Art Museum Fort Lauderdale, will beautifully accentuate the sculptural form of this Modernist building.”

The winning artwork will be displayed at CODAsummit: Experience on the exterior walls of the Museum this evening Thursday, April 7th from 9-10:30pm - the same night the 2022 Mercedes-Benz Corporate Run is scheduled to take place in the city, bringing thousands of people into downtown Fort Lauderdale. CODAsummit: Experience is produced by CODAworx, and focused on how experiential art drives economic development. A key mission of CODAsummit: Experience is to energize a broader range of people about the positive social and economic impacts of great experiential placemaking.
