Right in time for Miami Art Week and ahead of the holiday season, Buchanan’s Whisky is teaming up with Buddy System MIA, the nonprofit behind Miami’s Community Fridges, and local artists to establish and stock 10 community fridges in Miami’s most food insecure communities with free, nourishing foods, providing more than 28,000 meals to local underserved communities through March 2021.

“1 in 6 South Florida residents are facing food insecurity,” says Kristin Guerin from Buddy System MIA. “Through Buchanan’s donation, we’ll be able to help improve food accessibility in food deserts, serve more than 125,000 meals per year, and ultimately reach our goal of implementing 10 fully stocked fridges by March to feed more than 9,000 South Floridians in need.”

As an ode to this year’s cancelled Miami Art Week, and to provide the amazing local artists who are inspiring and impacting their own communities a platform, the brand commissioned three of Miami’s most beloved artists Reyna Noriega, AholSniffsGlue, and Vic Garcia to leave their mark on the fridges. Through their designs, the artists will celebrate Miami’s vibrancy, bringing color to the neighborhoods and beautifying communities.
