Locust Projects: Support the Next Generation of Artists on Give Miami Day!

On Give Miami Day your donation to Locust Projects will impact the lives of 25 high school-age, aspiring artists from across Miami who are selected to participate in Locust Art Builders. For four weeks every summer, a new group of LAB students work under the mentorship of established contemporary visual artists to learn about the practical and creative aspects of mounting a public exhibition, which they will develop and produce in collaboration with their peers.

Tomorrow, November 16, every donation to Locust Projects will receive a bonus match as part of Give Miami Day a 24-hour giving campaign organized by The Miami FoundationPart of every donation on Give Miami Day helps us make Locust Art Builders possible.

This invaluable hands-on experience allows young artists to widen their perspectives, connect with other artists and arts professionals and gain insights into careers in the arts as they build an exhibition from scratch.

Here is how far the impact of your tax-deductible donation goes:

$25 pays for transportation to Locust for one student for one week

$50 buys artmaking materials and supplies for one student for one week

$100 goes toward paid internships for student LAB assistants and LAB videographer

$500 pays for one field trip to a local museum for a behind-the-scenes tour with insights from museum staff

$1,000 pays for one week of lunches for 25 students

Tomorrow, click here to donate and make art happen for the next generation of artists!
