Overview: Through Miami-Dade County’s Department of CulturalAffairs, Art in Public Places program, 1.5% of the cost of construction on public land is dedicated to the commissioning of public art. This request for qualifications is for professional artists to commission public art. The selected artist(s) will design unique artwork(s) that will contribute to the identity of this facility and engage employees, visitors and passers-by in unexpected and delightful ways.

Dodge City Center, 601 City Center Way, from Saturday, November 2nd (11am to 8pm) and Sunday, November 3rd (12pm to 5pm). This event is free to the public and will feature talented artists from all over the country, live music, food trucks, workshops at The Frank Art Gallery, a Student Art Competition, Kids’ Art & Game Zone, performances, live hands-on art demonstrations and much more! The City of Pembroke Pines invites all artists and crafters to apply to the 26th Annual Art & Music Fest in the Pines. Introduction: 
The City of Pembroke Pines is seeking an artist or artist team to design, fabricate, and install site-specific interactive artwork for attachment to an exterior wall at the Charles F. Dodge City Center. The artwork should be visually appealing and include an interactive component to actively engage the building's visitors. 

Submission Deadline: Thursday, April 18, 2024 

Budget: $15,000 The project budget is all inclusive, including but not limited to artist fees, consultants, fabrication, storage, transportation, installation, permits and insurance provisions. Shortlisted artists must submit a detailed budget list. 

Artwork Opportunity: The City of Pembroke Pines is interested in commissioning a dynamic exterior artwork that: 

• Creates a sense of place. 
• Creatively enhances the exterior wall. 
• Actively engages the visitors of the building. 
• Compliments the surrounding environment.

Location of Artwork: The interactive artwork will be located at The Charles F. Dodge City Center Pembroke Pines home to the City of Pembroke Pines City Hall, Commission Chambers, and the Frank Art Gallery.  

The wall overlooks a walkway / intimate patio area between The Frank Art Gallery and the City Commission Chambers. 

The overall wall size is 55 feet wide X 25 feet tall. The artwork should interact with a portion of the wall. 




Selection Criteria: This Request for Qualifications is open to professional artists, eighteen years of age or older, residing in Broward, Miami-Dade, or Palm Beach counties. Applicants should demonstrate through their submission materials that they have the skills and experience to successfully complete a public art project. Professional artists with strong experience in executing their ideas through to completion, meeting deadlines, and budgets are encouraged to apply. 

Selection Process: Shortlisted artists will be invited to develop preliminary conceptual design proposals. Each shortlisted artist will receive information about the project and have a minimum of one month to prepare a preliminary design proposal for review by the Artist Selection Panel. Shortlisted artists will be paid an honorarium of $500 for the proposal.

Curator Maritza @maritzatheartjunkie with Mad Arts Gallery invites artists to participate in the exhibition “Step into the Street” where we bring the creativity, passion, and vibe found in the city streets into the gallery of Mad Arts.

In this interactive exhibition, street artists, musicians and performers showcase their work and style while the audience becomes part of the scene as they walk through the urban streetscape reimagined inside the gallery.

We are open to bold, edgy, expressive work that leads to an interactive experience that transports the viewer to another space where rules are made to be broken and creative impulses dominate.

Submission Criteria

We are looking for talented street artists to bring their unique form of self-expression to the Mad Arts Gallery.

With the use of tags, throw-ups, slaps and blockbusters created throughout the gallery, we aim to have the audience feel the ‘street’ come alive.


Seeking

2D canvas art, 3D art, photography of street scene including graffiti, films of graffiti, interactive art, painting on found objects, sculptures and installation art.

  • Artistic media include painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, photography, stickers, video, mixed media, performance art and more.
  • Entry must be original work of art completed within the last 5 years.
  • Up to 5 images per artist should be submitted in JPG 300 dpi.
  • Please include: the artist’s name, title of the work, medium, dimensions, and price.
  • Digital media and video submissions are limited to 15 minutes in duration.
  • Selected 2D work must be gallery wrapped or framed, and wired for hanging.
  • Prefer selected large installations and murals to be flexible in terms of location.
  • 3D work must be assembled in a stable and professional manner for pedestal or floor display.
  • Include an artist bio no more than 150 words.
  • List any social media links, website URL, and hashtags used.

SaveArtSpace CALL FOR ENTRIES: Miami Art Week - Art on billboards, bus shelters, plus $500!

 


SaveArtSpace is proud to present Neo.Rev, a public art exhibition on bus shelter and billboard ad space during Miami Art Week 2021 and Art Basel. APPLY HERE.

A new renaissance? A birth of the new age? What will our post pandemic reality become? We’ve went from being self-involved to being self-reflective; Reinventing ourselves to form a new strategy from our collective experience. Creating a new chapter to push ourselves to do more for oneself and ones community. Now is the time to be reborn back into a new era of creativity.

SaveArtSpace invites artists of all ages, talents and mediums to submit their artwork between August 25 and October 11, 2021. 

Nine artists will be selected from the open call and have their artwork on both a bus shelter and a billboard, receive a $500 honorarium, and the potential to have their original artwork exhibited in a gallery or art fair in Miami during Miami Art Week and Art Basel.

There is a $10 donation per image submission to participate, each donation is tax deductible and goes to producing the public art. Each artist is encouraged to submit up to 10 images. The selected artists will be announced after October 25th and will be exhibited on ad spaces in Miami, FL, starting November 22, 2021 for at least one month.

6th Annual Florida International Trade and Cultural Expo (FITCE) 2021

 


Call to Artists: The Florida International Trade and Cultural Expo (FITCE) Cultural Program Committee will be selecting professional artists to exhibit and engage audiences during the upcoming 2019 Florida International Trade and Cultural Expo (FITCE) on November 17 & 18, 2021 at Broward County Convention Center. Artists (all disciplines) interested are invited to complete, and submit, this application in order to be considered. 

From November 17-18, 2021, Broward County and all of South Florida will welcome local and international companies for a unique opportunity to engage key leaders, experts and attendees from around the world to participate in dialogues relating to international trade, foreign direct investment and culture. The goal of FITCE is to expand Broward County as the premier importing and exporting trading capital, while helping to establish new businesses and nurture existing businesses to spur continued growth. 

Participants: Meet one-on-one with international delegates, former presidents, government leaders, entrepreneurs, chambers of commerce leaders, business alliance and councils, seasoned importers/ exporters, and representatives from Broward County’s leading public economic engines: Port Everglades, Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, The Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau as well as Broward County’s Cultural Division, Enterprise Florida, and The Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance. FITCE VISION: To welcome new businesses, to collaborate and connect while providing tools and resources for those wanting to live and work in South Florida.

An artist is defined as a person who has created a recognized body of original works of art within an artistic discipline over a sustained period of time, and who is pursuing this work as a means of livelihood and/or a way to achieve the highest level of professional recognition. 

Applications will also be accepted by art students who are pursuing full-time undergraduate or graduate degrees. 

NOT ELIGIBLE:

Current employees, consultants, board members, funders of the Broward Cultural Council the Broward Cultural Division, or artists who engage in art work only as a hobby.

This gallery space offers South Florida artists an excellent
opportunity to exhibit their work in a prominent, high-traffic
area in FLL (Terminal 2 processes over 200k passengers
monthly). Artists selected will be required to provide artwork
for one exhibition covering two (2) 24 ft. wide by 7 ft. high
wall areas (a 1.8 ft. high area at the bottom of the wall is
reserved for charging stations).​

Each exhibition will run for six months. Artworks demonstrating
high artistic quality that appeal to a diverse audience are
encouraged. All art forms and mediums will be considered, as
long as the subject matter is appropriate for all airport visitors.
Due to the layout of the gallery space, artwork that projects
more than 6″ from the wall and freestanding works will not
be considered. Selected artists must commit to displaying their
work for the full length of the exhibit.

Exhibition Budget

A Broward County selected art handler will assist with the
installation of the exhibit at no cost to the artist (specialized
installation services are not included). Selected artists will
receive a flat honorarium of $2,500 upon the conclusion of
their exhibition and submittal of a proper invoice.

Artist Eligibility

All professional South Florida based artists eighteen years of
age or older, living and working in South Florida (Broward,
Miami-Dade, and Palm Beach counties) are encouraged to apply.

Application and Exhibition Process

Applications must be emailed to ARTFLL@Broward.org and
must include the following:

  • Letter of Interest – The one-page maximum letter should indicate interest in exhibiting at the Terminal 2 Gallery and include a brief artist statement outlining current focus of artwork.
  • Professional Résumé – Include exhibition history, education and awards.
  • Digital Images – Artist must submit no more than 10 digital images in JPEG format of most recent work. All images must be labeled using a file name and number that corresponds to the Annotated Image List (see below). Each artwork image must feature a single work. Composites of various artworks in a single image will be discarded. Do not submit images in TIFF, BMP, GIF, or video format.
  • Annotated Image List – Include name of artist, title of work, year, medium and dimensions.
