Next Level Fairs, Pioneer Art Fair Organizers Best Known For ArtPalmBeach

Since 1990, David and Lee Ann Lester of Next Level Fairs, have organized more than 110 major international fairs in Miami, Palm Beach, Naples, Hong Kong, New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, and Greenwich.

Many of their fairs have been acquired by major media companies. Art Miami was purchased in 1998 by Advanstar Communications and the Palm Beach International Art & Antique Fair. ArtPalmBeach, Palm Beach Town and Country, and the Texas International Fine Art Fair were purchased in 2001 by DMG World Media. International Fine Art Expositions (IFAE) later reacquired ArtPalmBeach and the Palm Beach International Art & Antique Fair.

Long known as innovators in the fair industry, the Lesters established their most ambitious venture, SeaFair - The Megayacht Venue, in 2007. Expoships’ $40M specially designed and constructed vessel offered art dealers and luxury lifestyle purveyors access to many affluent communities along the US East Coast in a unique, smaller, club-like fair format.

SeaFair Miami is now permanently docked at 100 Chopin Plaza, adjacent to the InterContinental Hotel in Miami at Bayfront Park on Biscayne Bay - it is by far the most luxurious event venue available. Designed by internationally acclaimed yacht designer Luis De Basto, the 222 ft., 2800 international tons, the magnificent vessel is the largest commercial operation ship in the Intercoastal waterway.

This uber-lux mega yacht offers the ultimate event experience where sea and sky converge with iconic Miami’s unique glamour. Its multi-faceted event spaces make Seafair one of the most sought-after event venues available.

The Lesters will continue Art Palm Beach, in its 22nd Edition, taking place January 16-20, 2019 at the Palm Beach County Convention Center and Art Boca Raton, in its 4th Edition, February 20-24, 2019 at the International Pavilion on the grounds of the FAU Research Park.

Superfine! NYC: The Movie (+ The E-Fair Lives!)

"Superfine! is a new kind of art fair: welcoming and affordable."
Fall in love all over again with Superfine! NYC.
Art to fall in love with.
That's what thousands of New Yorkers found this past week at the second annual edition of Superfine! NYC in the Meatpacking District. 78 booths full of artists + art professionals put forth their best work and their tireless energy for four days and five nights at New York's favorite emerging art fair. Sales were brisk across the board with notable New Yorkers like Lin-Manuel Miranda (writer of Hamilton) taking home works by the hundreds of artists that made up Superfine! NYC.

New works from Jersey City-based Deep Space Gallery's RU8ICON1 and Pittsburgh-based Box Heart Gallery's Sherry Rusinack and Nicole Gronvold Roller all found New York homes; as did those of solo artists including Wade Asa (NC), Richard Ahnert (Toronto), Monica Delgado (NYC), Noel Kassowitz (Miami / Washington DC), Shamona Stokes (Jersey City), and many, many more. While the art on the walls was certainly the focus, visitors also sipped SŌTŌ sake + sake-tails, delved into dim sum courtesy of Chinatown trailblazer Nom Wah Tea Parlor, and munched bites from Ancolie's "healthy French" in-fair epicurean cantine and Snowdays' one-night snow cream pop-up. Performance art also lit up the floor with Heidi Latsky Dance, Dream Caverns, and a Girls' Night Out performance by Sylva Dean and Me.

All this incredible art wouldn't be possible without you: our passionate exhibitors, devoted collectors, and talented journalists who help us tell the story of the new, inclusive art market we're building with each edition of Superfine! around the globe. We thank you and invite you to join us in stepping back inside Superfine! NYC one last time.

Gallery Talk: Andrew Myers
Tactile Art

Andrew Myers the California-based sculptor uses up to 10,000 screws to create these jaw-dropping portraits. The process is as painstakingly tedious as it looks, with each screw manually placed (at varying lengths) and painted. Andrew doesn’t use computer software to map out his portraits, it’s all by feel, treating each piece like a traditional sculpture. Check out the incredible work at the Lawrence Cantor Gallery booth #422.  Cantor will give a gallery talk at 3 pm.

Pablo Dona, Artist, "Fantasies"

" I aim to create a bridge to childhood,  tap into the emotions associated with the simple things in life,  those that when seeing through the eyes of a  child become magical. I invite you to a journey where sharks swim in teacups,  boats navigate across a alphabet soup and polar bears live in north pole made of marshmallow. A journey where everything is possible even be that child again. "    Don's miss booth # 202, Evan Lurie Gallery
